Planting trees
Trees are those strange things made from wood – a fuel with up to 40% of the recoverable energy of the equivalent weight of oil.
Arboriculture is a serious business – big machines, day-glo orange clothing, fancy Scandinavian chainsaws and vast tracts of land turned into a monocultural eyesore. Or is it? It could be simply making sure that you collect some seeds, take and plant some cuttings, protect everything from grazing animals – basically anything which increases tree cover is to be welcomed. Some would say that the extent of tree cover in a country is a reflection of the maturity of the enclosed society. We have some way to go if that is the case.
As to why you should plant trees? – well if you need a reason here is one.
