Condensing Boilers

If you have ever noticed the shimmering heat leaving the flue on a standard Irish boiler, or wondered how it is that Irish boilers can produce hot water so quickly, or why they cycle so frequently or even marveled at their extraordinary thirst for oil – well here is an explanation.

The traditional approach to central heating in Ireland has been to use the cheapest (least efficient boiler) which is usually oversized because of the absence of heating controls; which explains why it uses so much oil.  That shimmer is wasted heat and in many cases you have spent more on oil than would have if you had purchased the most expensive european boiler!

While we in this country have been putting up with this situation of 50-70% efficiency  the average German boiler has been running at greater than 95% efficiency (worst case they use half the oil for the same amount of heat.)  Energy efficiency – use as little fuels as you can and use the fuel as efficiently as possible.

At ENSEN we can offer a superb boiler upgrade – many of our customers qualify for a grant.  We install a range of Irish and European manufactured condensing oil and LPG (Gas) boilers.  In addition, in many cases the customer also installs some zoning and heating controls to further improve efficiency.  While we are there we usually make additional improvements such as system flushes, corrosion inhibitor and a magic filter (enquire within).
