Conserve Energy

Open fires – now that is a thorny subject.

Technically we define an open fire as a large uncontrolled aperture (a hole) in a house but many may think that it represents the ultimate in ambience and an important cultural attachment to the past.  We with our technical approach to life fail to understand the difference between a naked flame and a naked flame behind glass – other than the fact that you have to go for fuel up to five times more often, or redecorate your house up to six times more often, or clean your chimney up to twelve …  (sorry thats an exaggeration- but you get the point).

Decide now to get rid of your open fire – brick it up and stick a photo on it or better still, buy a nice efficient stove – we like wood gasification stoves because they are energy efficient, carbon neutral and have a far, far nicer flame than an open fire – try here – plenty to choose from and we can install it if you live in the North West – Thermal redemption beckons.
